Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in Lovely Carmel, California

Beautiful and tranquil Carmel-by-the-sea is a world-famous location, but still keeps its low-key atmosphere that made it famous in the first place. This has always been a quick getaway for Hollywood celebrities looking to enjoy their privacy in a beautiful sea-side town.  It is also a great spot to live or invest in real estate, with several notable celebrities owning houses here, such as Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Betty White and Clint Eastwood.  Eastwood owns the Mission Ranch resort here, ranked #7 in the top ten celebrity owned hotels.  He even served as the mayor of Carmel from 1986 to 1988.  With this attention being drawn to Carmel, you are sure to find some great dining experiences to match.

Here are my picks for breakfast, lunch and dinner in Carmel, California:

Breakfast- Katy’s Place

This is my favorite breakfast spot in Carmel and definitely proves breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The specialties here are waffles and eggs benedict, two great morning options, one sweet and one savory, which open a plethora of options. Katy’s Place offers an amazing thirteen kinds of egg benedict and nine kinds of waffles.  With their waffles they cover, maple syrup, powdered sugar, cinnamon and all kinds of fresh fruit.  You can also order the traditional Belgian waffle with eggs, bacon or sausages.  Their themed eggs benedict menu has something for everyone, with a wide variety of high-quality ingredients from across North America. Besides the classic ingredients, you’ll find avocado, Canadian bacon, smoked salmon, bay shrimp, dungeness crab, corned beef and even caviar!  They also offer a range of other breakfast items such as a range of omlettes, French toast and pancakes.

Lunch- Bahama Billy’s

If you’re looking for an exciting lunch, head to Bahama Billy’s.  Here you will find a fusion of Californian, Hawaii Caribbean, Cuban and Creole cuisine in a popular shopping area of Carmel.  They match this tasty eclectic range of foods with inventive cocktails and drinks.  If enjoying lunch with some friends or family, I recommend the Paradise Platter, a sample of menu favorites including jerk wings, blackened sesame ahi tuna and coconut prawns.    This location is also great for people watching with a nice patio, and has a relaxed dining room if you feel like some peace and quiet.

Dinner- Pacific’s Edge

For a dinner to remember, make the trip out to Pacific’s Edge, once named in Wine Spectator magazine’s “top 20 restaurants”. They fuse American and French styles, you are sure to find an interesting and delicious entrée, with an impressive wine list. Note when you chose this restaurant, you get much more than world-class cuisine.  From the top of the Carmel Highlands, you can feast your eyes on awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Pacific. Make sure to get here before sunset, which is always spectacular.  You can also arrange a private dinner in their wine room, or relax on their sunset lounge or make an order from their cigar menu.

Follow this little restaurant itinerary while in Carmel and I’m sure you will enjoy a full day of delicious cuisine that perfectly matches this picture-esque town.  There is plenty more to enjoy here than just great food, with a lovely art-centric town, museums, art galleries, exquisite white sand beaches, and beautiful natural surroundings.  If you are interesting in living or investing in property here, please visit Carmel CA Real Estate.
